Business Unit Ricab, Cab&Mechanics

As of spring 2009, development and manufacture of cabs for fork-lifts and special vehicles is a new business area – "Ricab" – within Rimaster Business Unit Cab&Mechanics.

Mechanical systems itself is a rather new business branch within the Rimaster Group, since long known for its focus on electrical systems and electronics. However, as it was as a mechanical workshop the company started in the early 1980’s, the skills and knowledge is there, and over the last few years, Rimaster has identified a need within the group to develop – or rather re-develop – our capacities in the mechanics field.

Rimaster Cab&Mechanics was acquired from the Samhall Group in January 2007, and the company has since then been full integrated in the Rimaster Group to suit the needs of other Rimaster companies as well as external customers. In December 2008, another step towards a fully integrated mechanical systems branch was taken when Rimaster acquired the specialized powder coating company Horn-Lack AB.

Rimaster Cab&Mechanics not only work with powder coating of components made from steel and aluminium, but also provides assembling for a variety of customers, ranging from sub-component assembly to final assembly of finished products, packaging and deliveries.

Rimaster Cab&Mechanics is an integrated Mechanical Construction Business Unit, specialising in various steel-based products and components, ranging from lamp fixtures for cranes to highly advanced control panels. In 2008 and 2009 about 10 MSEK (approx 1 MEUR) was invested in new machinery.
